Job Description

Job Summary

The Associate Estimator will be required to furnish accurate and timely estimates to Account Executives to establish a coordinated system of profitable selling prices in tune with industry standards. Support the Department as needed, as directed by the Estimating Manager.

 

Essential Functions

1. Learn and use the LN system as needed to perform the job function.

2. Prepare estimates for reorders of custom products using a bill of materials and the original estimate as a basis. Contact suppliers for updated costs and/ or obtain costs from the computer system and compile them into the new estimate. Contact the production department to obtain labor estimates. 

3. Assist others in preparing estimates for new custom products as needed.

4. Learn RTC’s array of standard products and the inventory pricing systems for Standard products.  Help maintain standard product pricing tools.

5. Circulate estimates to appropriate parties. Help to maintain the estimate files.

 

Secondary Duties

  1. Support Sourcing with discrete projects as assigned.
  2. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the estimating manager.
  3. Update and maintain department file system (electronic and hard copy).
  4. Maintain a Daily Quote Log for tracking the department's workload.
  5. Learn suppliers, production methods, and materials. Help build and maintain the department’s source files.
Education

A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering is preferred but not essential.

Experience

Experience: Some estimating or purchasing experience is a plus.

Skills: Computer operation (Excel, Word).  Accurate, quality-conscious, and detail-oriented.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $46,886-$69,386, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position's competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role.  Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results.  Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date.  Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
