EHS Manager
Short description:
This position is responsible for developing and implementing all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and policies across all U.S. locations to ensure compliance with relevant governmental regulations, company policies, and standards. This person, in conjunction with other managers, will establish EHS goals and will then develop action plans to attain these goals. This position will also lead sustainability efforts at our Plant locations.
Principal duties:
- Develop and implement an EHS program that ensures full compliance with all governmental regulations/policies and company standards. This will entail working with managers at each individual site.
- Establish and achieve EHS goals based on a gap analysis of department or plant EHS performance, prioritize issues and projects to achieve EHS compliance.
- Ensure that all associates receive adequate and appropriate safety, environmental, and regulatory training. Develop and implement training programs, secure external training as necessary, and select or recommend training aids and materials as needed to ensure compliance with all required regulations.
- Manage the internal and external reporting of all accidents and incidents, ensuring that root cause investigations are conducted and corrective measures are implemented.
- Responsible for the plant and corporate safety committee, and setting an agenda aligned with achieving safety goals. Encourages and mentors participants in good safety practices. Will incorporate safety audits into the work of the team, as well as JSAs and elements of the STOP program. Will analyze data acquired to drive continuous improvement activities.
- Responsible for the plant's first responder team and ensuring adequate training and certification among the facilities. Also, training team members on proper reporting and documentation.
- Oversees the plant sustainability team. Works with team members to gather ideas, identify, track, and implement solutions, and seek opportunities to be more environmentally friendly.
- Work closely with our temporary associate providers to develop, implement, and monitor our safety training programs for their employees.
Secondary Duties:
- Ability to interface with all levels of management within RTC.
- Create reports by analyzing data to help explain current situations and trends.
- Assist in developing the financial justification for EHS investments.
Education / Experience/ Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
- 3-5 years in safety-related positions
- Familiar with OSHA and DOT rules and regulations
- Experienced in conducting root cause analysis to address and prevent safety incidents
- Prior experience with forming & leading safety and sustainability committees
- Ability to conduct various safety trainings within the manufacturing environment and office locations
- Must be detail-oriented and thrive when handling multiple responsibilities
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to train and lead other Associates

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is budgeted at $82,850-$ 129,250, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value of this position and provides an opportunity for associates to progress as they grow and develop within the role. Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results. Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are prorated based on the start date. Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
