PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Main point of contact to assist RTC Union associates with HR related questions.
  • Partner with Payroll Administrator to process weekly payroll.
  • Manage details for Union Associates out on FMLA/STD leave- meeting to explain the process, providing all paperwork, tracking leaves, and reporting to payroll.

  • Work with Supervisors to resolve discrepancies in time sheets and recordkeeping for time off/PTO for Union Associates.
  • Answer benefit questions for Union Associates.
  • Conduct reference checks and prepare offer letters.
  • Create new hire packets and conduct new hire orientation.
  • Research training options; register Associates for internal/external classes; obtain feedback.
  • Process and record/track temp invoices.
  • Maintain all files and copying.
  • Switchboard coverage 1-2 days per week.
  • Cross-train with others in HR to be the back-up for Non-Union payroll and leaves.
Experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required to be fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday, set hours each day 
  • Ability to travel to Romeoville and Bolingbrook plant locations for new hire orientations and other needs that might arise
  • Experience with using Payroll software or HRIS system (UKG preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented; take pride in accuracy
  • Team-oriented and positive attitude
  • Proficient in MS Office products and ability to quickly learn new computer systems
  • Ability to multi-task and take direction from multiple team members
  • Excellent communication skills
